Anionic fluorocarbon surfactants not only share the commonalities of fluorocarbon surfactants, but also have their own unique properties. The following is a detailed introduction:
1. Surface activity
High surface activity: It can significantly reduce the surface tension of solvents at relatively low concentrations. Some products can reduce the surface tension of aqueous solutions to 18-20 dyn/cm at 50-100 ppm, which can reduce the surface tension of aqueous solutions to around 15-16 dyn/cm.
Rapid reduction of surface tension: With the ability to rapidly reduce surface tension, it can quickly aggregate and arrange into molecular films at the liquid/gas interface, enabling the solution surface to quickly reach a lower surface tension state. It performs well in some applications that require rapid action.
2. Stability
High thermal stability: Perfluorosulfonic acid salts can not decompose at 350-400 ℃, and perfluorocarboxylic acid salts can also be used in high-temperature systems at 250 ℃, and can be stably used in a wide temperature range.
Good chemical stability: It can stably and effectively exert its surfactant effect in special application systems such as strong acids, strong bases, and strong oxidizing media, without reacting or decomposing with the system. If perfluorosulfonic acid salt is stored in a 98% sulfuric acid solution containing chromium oxide (10g/L) at 90 ℃ for 28 days, its performance will not change.
Strong antioxidant properties: Due to the special properties of fluorine atoms, they have a good shielding effect on carbon chains, making anionic fluorocarbon surfactants have strong antioxidant properties and can remain stable in environments with oxidizing substances.
3. Compatibility
Compatible with other active agents: It has good compatibility and can be well compatible with various other active agents. It can be widely used in various pH ranges, water-based, anhydrous, powder or radiation curing systems, and can be well compatible with other surfactants and components in the system. It can be used in combination to achieve better results.
Stable in complex formulations: In complex formulation systems containing multiple components, such as coatings, inks, detergents, etc., it can exist stably and function without reducing performance or failure due to interaction with other components.
4. Other characteristics
Oil repellent and hydrophobic: Its non-polar group is a fluorocarbon chain, which not only has hydrophobic properties, but also has unique oil repellent properties, making it valuable for special applications that require both waterproofing and oil resistance.
Low toxicity and environmental protection: Generally speaking, anionic fluorocarbon surfactants have relatively low toxicity to the human body and the environment during use, meeting environmental protection requirements. They have certain application advantages in some fields with high requirements for the environment and human health, such as food packaging, medical device cleaning, etc.
Good emulsifying and dispersing ability: It can effectively emulsify and disperse low surface energy substances such as polytetrafluoroethylene, which helps to improve the dispersibility and stability of pigments, fillers, etc. in industries such as paint, coatings, and inks, and improve product performance and quality.
