What are the common second-generation refrigerants
1、 R-22 refrigerant
R-22 is an HCFCs refrigerant that was widely used as an early substitute for fluorocarbons. This refrigerant has good cooling effect and is widely used in small and medium-sized commercial and industrial air conditioning as well as refrigeration equipment. However, R-22 refrigerant has a significant destructive effect on the ozone layer and has been listed as a banned refrigerant.
2、 R-407C refrigerant
R-407C is an HFC refrigerant and one of the direct alternatives to R-22. R-407C has a similar cooling effect and working pressure as R-22, making it suitable for retrofitting existing R-22 systems. R-407C is an environmentally friendly option that is harmless to the ozone layer, but has gradually been replaced by R-410A in recent years.
3、 R-410A refrigerant
R-410A is a relatively new HFC refrigerant widely used in new air conditioning systems due to its high efficiency and safety. Compared to R-22, R-410A has a higher compression ratio and higher refrigeration efficiency, while having less impact on the environment.
4、 Other refrigerants
In addition to the three refrigerants mentioned above, there are also some second-generation refrigerants such as R-404A, R-134a, etc. R-404A is an HFC mixed refrigerant used for commercial refrigeration applications, while R-134a is an HFC refrigerant suitable for automotive air conditioning. These refrigerants have their own characteristics and uses, and need to be selected according to specific circumstances.
Overall, with the increasing international demand for environmental protection, new HFC refrigerants have been widely used. With the continuous development of technology, more efficient and low-carbon refrigerants are constantly emerging.
